A couple of weeks ago, I gave a keynote at a U. of Denver conference, titled "Science in the Age of Covid-19". As readers of the blog know, I've been busy throughout the pandemic, examining how data and statistics are used in the torrent of research studies. This talk summarizes a chunk of those materials.
The talk is quite long. I will release the slides here over three blog posts. Part 1 introduces the topic. I outline the key challenges of conducting data studies during this period of time. I classify many of the key studies by research methods.
This sets me up to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of various research methods in Part 2.
The talk is evolving, and I'd be happy to hear any feedback.
P.S. [5/13/2021: Part 2 will be posted soon. If the link isn't live, come back by end of day.]
