An interesting problem is what Google does when it doesn't have tracking data because of lack of cell coverage and Google StreetView hasn't been there. What it does is to just guess and gets it wrong https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-01-14/outback-queensland-businesses-urge-google-to-investigate-maps/10712268


Ken: Also interesting is in jurisdictions that do not want to give up their data for free to Google. When I was in Lyon last year, I realized that you can't get any public transportation directions from Google Maps.
