I am appearing on the radio morning news program, The Takeaway, on Tuesday 3/2, around 7:30 am EST. The show is syndicated by PRI and WNYC with editorial partners BBC, NY Times and WGBH-Boston. The topic is using numbers to tell stories.
If you missed the program, the audio is now available here.

If you live near New York City, one of my favorite bookstores, McNally Jackson, has signed copies of the book on sale. Please call before you go as they are currently running low on copies.
McNally Jackson is a pleasant place to hang out for book lovers, and part of the book was written in their lovely cafe.
Heard it live from Mountain Standard Time. I recall you mentioned the book twice--maybe once would have been fine for a shared segment like that.
One thought I have had about journalists is that they seem to use a single anecdote woven into a story as evidence for something. Whereas a statistician should be able to take a statistic and the framework in which it sits and make that tell a much more compelling story.

Chris: thanks for the feedback. I wanted to respond to James' point about the use of anecdotes but at that point, I had 20 seconds before they'd cut me off.
My post about dentists deals with the anecdote menace, among other things. An extreme sample of one is so not convincing to a statistician but has been used very effectively by politicians and interest groups.
